Copenhagen

Finally finding time to upload some pictures from my Copenhagen trip. Don't expect awesomeness. I just point and click.

Mini Copenhagen!

Haribo. Yummy.

I think this is the opera house, but don't quote me on it!

The reason for being here: Helen's
30th birthday party!

Random streets and buildings.
I was only in Copenhagen for a weekend to go to a friend's 30th birthday party. In between I did some sightseeing. Really enjoyed just walking the streets with no particular aim to get anywhere. I have no idea what I saw and what the history behind it was. But it was all beautiful. Uh, and it was really cold. I mean COLD. So I enjoyed some nice Danish hot dogs and waffles. Sorry, no pictures of those. They were gone too quickly. ;-)

I hope you got a little glimpse of this little weekend mini break.

The non-update update

Basically just posting to inform you all that there is no update on the movies yet. I purchased 'Up' on Friday. So we will hopefully be watching that soon. I also wanted to get 'District 9', but then I just couldn't spend the £20 on it and figured I'll buy it sometime later. Maybe it will get cheaper...

In other news, as I have already forgotten any new year's resolution I might have had, I decided to make little plans month for month . This way I hope to get more done and keep track of what activities I am wasting my life on at the moment.

So for February I decided I wanted to finish two games. I keep buying games and usually end up not finishing them. No specific reasons, just no time or because I am reading or catching up on TV shows. So now I am working my way through Chrono Trigger and Ninja Gaiden and am immensely enjoying it. The thought behind it is that I want to clean up some of them so I can start fresh on Final Fantasy XIII in March. Yes, geeky, but I love it nonetheless.

I would do the same thing for reading books. Just because I have a huge pile on our desk that grows bigger and bigger. But I actually do read a lot of them, I just keep buying too many to stay on top of it.

Anyhow, my secret project is running along nicely. I basically posted it on Friday and the decision is now in the hands of other people. So scared that I did not do enough for it. But now all I can do is hope...

Going to enjoy the rest of my weekend now.

Movies continued

So we watched 'Up in the air'. Really liked that one. I thought it would be funnier but I enjoyed it nonetheless. George Clooney was brilliant. Glad I got to see it. We also managed to squeeze in 'The Hurt Locker' in the evening on blue-ray. Looked amazing. I thought it was really sad, but very intense. If that makes sense. Out of the three watched so far I would give the Oscar to 'Hurt Locker'. But still many to go. I don't really wanna judge until I have seen them all.

This weekend will probably not progress us much on the movie front. On Saturday we are going to a good friend's wedding and on Sunday I have to work (booh on that). Hopefully the weekend after will be more productive.

In other news, I am just melting some Camembert in the oven which wants to be eaten. Dipping in some baguette. Will be delicious. Mmmmh.

Gotta to leave for dinner now...

Follow up post

Two things I can follow up to from yesterday:

Numero Uno. Running. It felt really good to be outside and working out. Even though it only lasted about ten minutes and at the time I thought I should have done more and lasted longer. Turns out, it was good that I didn't. Today, I can really feel it in my muscles and bones. My inside thighs are on fire (which is a good thing, hopefully that means more muscle leading to less fat, yay). And in my tummy (see brackets in previous sentence) and on my back. Don't know if there is that much fat to lose on the back but hey, all is welcome.

Avatar. In 3D. I really liked it. They didn't push the 3D in your face. In some scenes especially around the lush and luminescent forests on Pandora it just looks amazing. In others when people are just walking or talking I couldn't care less whether it was in 3D or not. It also looked rather nice when there were big 'boxes' on screen. For example when we were watching the protagonist through the front screen of a helicopter, or when a big long glasscase is washed out with a hose. Unfortunately, the story line fell a bit flat. Just a little bit too predictable and nothing new really. I won't say what exactly happens since I don't wanna spoil it for people who still wanna see it. But let's just say the story is straightforward. Though that said, the movie went by very quickly. I think it's about 2 and a half hours long. Definitely did not feel like that. So, to sum it up, I enjoyed the movie immensely, the story might not match the innovative tech. I'll give it a 7/10.

So, today we will go see 'Up in the air'. The idea is to watch as many Oscar nominated movies as possible. We are one down. LOL. Yeah, I think I did see many movies last year, but apparently my tastes differs with from the people nominating for the Academy. Meah, we acquired 'The hurt locker' yesterday, so that is up on the 'To watch list' as well. 'Up', 'Inglorious Basterds' and 'District 9' are high up there too, though I don't have them yet. The only one I am not toooo excited about is 'Precious...' The title is already too long for me to even write down and really puts me off the whole movie. A novel by Sapphire. Who is Sapphire, who names themself sapphire? Honestly. So that might be the one I skip. Bf money is on 'Up in the air' for best picture. I am not sure. Figure I wait till I have seen it all. Hmm, without having seen it, but were amazing if 'Inglorious Basterds' gets it.

Have rumbled on enough about this now. My tummy tells me it is time for breakfast. I think there are some eggs in the fridge.

All of you have a great Sunday! Enjoy.

Quick Post

Hello everyone,

just a quick note from me. Started the weekend in style with a 7am run. Urgh. Wasn't so bad. The first run in about 6 months so I didn't even do a mile. Figured I have to start slow.

But bf cooked a nice breakfast after. Omelette with toast. Yum.

Have to get ready  now because we want to catch the 3D showing of Avatar. Can't wait! My first 3D film ever. Very excited about that.

Gotta run.
