Things I love ... Monday!

Sorry, but usually Thursday is just not a quiet evening where I have time to think about the things I love at the moment.

  • Bank holiday Monday!
  • Hot chocolate. Found this lovely one to melt into hot mild. Yummy. @Dani, melted it into soy milk yesterday. Not as good as with milk I find, lacks fat it's just a bit too watery, but still good.
  • Having a reduced office next week. I like it when certain people aren't there!
  • SMT: Devil Survivor. Picked it up in Canada as it didn't get published in Europe. Loving it so far. They should get rid off country coding dvds as well. Why does it work with games but not dvds. It's a shame, but I love the gaming industry for dropping country locking on some of their consoles!
  • Kiwi juice. Can't get enough of it at the moment. Especially in Innocent drinks.
  • New Ubuntu release. Had problems with the old one as firefox struggled with the flash player (not a major problem since I block it on most sites anyway), but it's nice that it works properly now on the pages I do decide to let it run on.
  • New purple color scheme on Ubuntu. I know, a stupid thing to get excited about, but I really love it.
  • Seeing my cousin next Friday (hopefully, she hasn't actually agreed yet) and going shopping with a friend next Saturday for a fascinator and possibly going out after.
  • Birthday presents. Got Nana mangas from my bf and just finished the first one of those. Love them! It's the only manga I read, but I am addicted. Plus, New Super Mario Brothers Wii, playing it together with bf. Tons of fun! Though we keep accidentally killing each other. Meh, still fun.
All in all a good week behind me and a good week ahead. What else can I ask for?

Things I love Thursday...

Check out this blog for the idea.

  1. Having a beer on a Thursday evening! Whoot, whoot. And watching 'The Hangover'.
  2. Going to Canada tomorrow.
  3. Election in the UK. Even though I wasn't allowed to vote in the general election I at least was allowed to cast my vote in the local.
  4. Suitcase and hand luggage is packed. Only need to add stuff in the morning and then we are off.
  5. New books. I had a voucher £5 off at WH Smith when spending more than 15. So I grabbed two books, found out at the till that they were 'buy one get one half price' so I got another one to get over the £15 to save some money. Love buying books. The more the better.
  6. Potato wedges.
Don't know when I'll be able to post next. Can't wait to leave tomorrow. Wish us luck with the ash cloud. Some UK airports were closed yesterday. Today it was all fine, so fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Things I love Thursday

Is it Thursday again?!?!? Weeks are just flying by, can't believe it.

  • Bank holiday weekend coming up! Three day weekends are awesome!
  • Short working week after that. Monday off and Friday off. Gotta love it.
  • New shoes! Very simple ones from Office. Black ballerinas. They are called Mary-Jane. Is that a style? I love the inside of them most, all flowery.
  • My mom on facebook. Ok, not sure about that one yet. Thinking about making an exclusive list for my mom where I can control what she sees and what not.   ;-)  Anyone any opinions on this?
  • My new books. Still flying through them. So good! Seriously thinking about hitting the library after Canada. Spending way too much money on books. And they take up too much space in our apartment.
  • Pay-day! Everyday should be pay-day!
  • Spring. Weather is just brilliant. Today was the first 'bad' day in two weeks. It's cloudy and humid. But still warm. I don't mind at all, but people start complaining.
  • Lunch breaks. Have been doing a lot of window shopping the last few days. Will continue to do so as I am really enjoying myself.

It's been a pretty uneventful week. Still trying to get ready for the weddings. But can't wait till tomorrow. Kick-off for the long weekend!

Things I love Thursday...

I realise I am not doing this every week, but I today I feel like it.

  • New books. Went to Waterstones yesterday and picked up three goodies. Already 50 pages into the first one and loving it so far. Also picked up the new book by Elizabeth George last week. Read it every night before going to bed. Really good so far. Usually I would take it to work and read on the train, but it's a hardback and I hate dragging those around with me all the time.
  • New shoes! The weather is getting nicer and nicer so my thoughts turned to summer and shoes. I usually have problems with them as I get blisters in all of mine (even in Birkenstocks, don't know how I manage that). Today I picked up some canvas pumps. Hoping for a blister free summer with these!
  • Volcanic ash settling down. We are going to Canada in about two weeks. Very glad the planes are flying again.
  • Sunshine! Had the most amazing weekend. Spent most of it outside. Hoping for something similar this weekend.
  • Healthy eating. Was very good. Some slip-ups on the weekend but nothing too bad. Really enjoying the whole portion control and healthy eating thing. My desk is covered in fruits though. When I get hungry I either eat a pear or a banana. Helps a lot!
  • Making plans for bank holiday weekends. Don't know if we will end up doing any of it. But it's fun coming up with cool possibilities.
  • Being smile-and-noddy. I could be super-stressed at work at the moment, but I smile and nod and everything is fine. Aaaah...
  • Tea-breaks. When it gets too loud in the office, I go and make tea for everyone. Gives me a break and everyone loves me...
  • Going back to Japanese class. At first I thought it would suck and I wouldn't know anything, but then it was ok. I mean, I don't know everything, but was absolutely fine following the lesson and remembered stuff from my earlier terms. Phew. Had a really fun time!
That's about it this week. Maybe there will be more next week. Hope you are all having a good day and are enjoying spring as much as I do!

Things I love Thursday...

My second attempt. Let's see what I have been loving this week.

  • Secret project. Still very excited about this. And the ball just keeps on rolling. I will probably just have to be patient for another week and then I will know if it will go as planned. Even though then the real work will begin...
  • bf coming home tomorrow evening after being gone for the whole week. He has been out on seminars. Getting drunk with his work crew every evening which means...
  • Chinese food and quiet evening tomorrow! Love it, hopefully I will squeeze in a movie too!
  • Finding bf's old phone. Even though it is 'old' it is still much better than the one I have. So I did a little swap over this evening. Gonna test is this week to see if the battery and yadda yadda is as good but so far, love it! It has a real colour display and a camera! The camera isn't that good but still, it is a camera!
  • Audiobooks. They make me feel not quiet as alone as I feel all by myself at night.
  • Final Fantasy XIII. Just started to play it and it is phenomenal. The graphics, wow. Need to play it much more. But so far, so good.
  • Vocab cards. One of the people in my class took it upon herself to print out nice verb cards with a picture on one side and the different forms on the other. Really help me to study my Japanese. Probably already learnt more in this week than in the entire last term!
That's enough for now. I feel really sleepy, so I will go enjoy my audiobooks. Have a good night everyone!

Things I love Thursday...

This is an idea that I have seen on several blogs now and I really like the sentiment. I first saw it here don't think it's the original source though. But too lazy to look up that one, and since I have never been there I think it's ok to only show this one.

I have been feeling a little bit anxious lately, and also a bit dark and gloomy. Probably just the cold weather getting to me. The last few days have been nice and sunshiny but cold, cold, cold. Making a list of things I love and cheer me up at the moment seemed like a good idea.

So let's see what needs to go on my first 'loving' list:

  • Healthy food. Nice stew sitting in the kitchen right this moment. I have been falling off the wagon a bit lately and it feels really good to eat healthy again and stop overindulging. All this good yummy food makes me feel better from the inside. Trying to eat more soy and veggies and it really lifts my spirits (and hopefully lifts off some weight, though that is not the primary goal, just collateral 'damage').
  • Podcasts. Love listening to them on my way to work. They wake me up and make me smile. 'nough said about those.
  • Green tea. Used to drink it all the time. Tons of it. For some reason I drank less and less of it the last few months. Now that I started drinking lots of it again I feel much better, less thirsty ;-) and less hungry. Makes me feel full for some reason. And I really enjoy the taste. I picked up a mixed package from Twinings that has all these different flavors in it. My favorite so far: apple and pears. Don't really taste the apple, but the pear is yummy.
  • Secret project. At the moment it stresses me out a bit, just to organise it all and keep track of it and keeping it a secret (though hopefully not for much longer), but on the other hand I think it is moving along nicely which makes me feel really excited. And a little bit nauseous.
  • Holiday planning. Took half a day off tomorrow which I am planning to spend relaxing and possibly shopping (need new work pants [trousers, for you British speaking folks out there] since another pair of mine ripped, hurray. Hate, hate, hate shopping for pants). Then I have almost a whole week off at the end of the month. Have to come in for half day on the Friday, work on Sunday and Monday and then off home for Easter. Love Easter! Then a month of work and then off to Canada for a wedding. Then a month of work and off to Yorkshire for a wedding. This year is wedding year, that will be three weddings in five months!
  • Sunshine. Has been really nice weather the last couple of days. It is actually light outside now when I leave the house AND when I get back home. That is such a big pick-me-up. That almost officially means that spring is just around the corner.
This should be enough for now. Rather enjoyed doing it. Might have more to say next week. So watch out!
